BE YOU!

Pastor Joel Osteen Ministries gave an awesome message during the 2017 Church of God In Christ Holy Convocation. One thing that stood out to me in his message was, “There’s no Grace on your life to be someone else.” Wow! I thought that was so profound and it got me thinking. How often do we say, “I want to be like so and so when I grow up” or “I wish I was like so and so.” We try to hard to be like them that we neglect the person (ourselves) God has called and designed us to be.

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

Psalm 139:14-16 (ESV)

There are over seven billion people in the world and not one has the exact hand prints, not even twins. It tells me that God has created each of us uniquely for a unique assignment, to stand out and be different. He did not create us to live our lives wishing or trying to be like someone else. Our full potential cannot be maximized if our life’s focus is to be someone else. Trying to be like someone else is so hard and tedious, whereas when you are yourself, you live a free life in Jesus Christ. God has uniquely made all of us  to uniquely impact the world. “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” – Oscar Wilde

You are GRACED to be YOU!
