Discovering Your Divine Assignment

God has called each of us for a specific earthly assignment.

Knowing what it is requires us to seek His face.

When you spend quality time seeking and understanding what you are called to do through the revealing power of the Holy Spirit, God often uses someone to anoint you as a sign of confirmation.

This anointing confirms what the Holy Spirit has already revealed to you.

Anointing as Confirmation, Not Commissioning

Now that someone has anointed and confirmed your assignment, does it mean you must jump right into it?

Notice I said anoint as a sign of confirmation, not commissioning.

There is a difference.

To confirm means to affirm and validate.

On the other hand, commissioning means ordering and authorizing.

You can be confirmed but not commissioned.

God can confirm His will for your life but not necessarily commission you to begin the journey.

Sometimes, we allow ourselves to feel as if we are ready for the assignment, but in actuality, we are far from it.

Just because God anointed you today does not mean you are ready for the job.

Being anointed is not an exemption from God’s training school.

Don’t believe me? Just ask David!

From the time Samuel anointed him as King, do you know how long it took him to be King?

David had to wait about 15 years from the time he was first anointed by Samuel to when he became King over Judah.

The Importance of Preparation

You cannot expect to be commissioned into something you are neither prepared nor ready for.

God has to work on the inside and outside of you.

He has to strip away some of those dirty and bad ways.

He has to rid us of hatred, malice, jealousy, and the works of the flesh.

He has to disconnect you from people who are not meant to go with you to the next level of your life.

You were not given a fly-by-night assignment, so you must be adequately equipped to execute.

God will do what He has to do in you to get you where you need to be.

You have been anointed for a purpose but must be processed to be commissioned.

The Purpose of Training

You are already anointed.

I want you to understand that.

The training does not make you any more anointed than you already are.

The classroom is simply where we are being prepared and matured to be used by the Lord.

The training is necessary.

Soldiers go through it.

It builds grit, strength, and endurance for what lies ahead.

The disciples went through it, too.

The process you are going through might feel uncomfortable or too much to handle, but know it is for your good.

You are being stretched, and that is a good thing.

Once you can pass the training, prepare for God to commission you!
