Today is one of the year’s most under-appreciated and often overlooked days. A day set aside to celebrate and honor our FATHERS has become a day of anger, rage, and venting because the men failed to step up to the plate and father their children. In doing so, it has painted a negative picture and has caused society to lose respect for fatherhood.
Yes, it is unfortunate, a considerable amount of children are being raised in single parent homes nowadays. However, we must not allow those who fail to overshadow those who succeed and are exceptional fathers.
Fathers are a great gift to the world and are responsible as teachers, trainers, providers, protectors, guides, and spiritual covering for the family. Please note that no woman or mother can take the place of a father or fulfill the role of a father in any child’s life. Every child needs a FATHER!
I know there are a lot of children who have animosity towards their fathers. However, I implore you, especially our young men, that no matter what kind of father you may have, you must honor, love, and respect them. You must forgive the ones who have wronged or hurt you and move forward in trying to be the best father you can be to your children.
In closing, to all the fathers, Happy Father’s Day! Continue to be the great men you are, taking your example from our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, as He was, is, and will always be the greatest model of what and who a father should be!
