Philippians 4:6-7

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

This passage of scripture was just what I needed to read with all of the preparation I had to do for my new journey to college in the United States of America. From January to now, it has been quite a roller coaster for me and one of the roughest months of my entire life.  I decided to step out in Faith to attend a college I knew God was calling me to and at times it felt like the worst decision I could have possibly made. I could not see my way out of the tunnel I knew I had to go through. I knew God was guiding me, but sometimes it did not feel that way. I felt overwhelmed with the bills and fees in front of me and how close deadlines were.

However, when I stopped worrying and gave everything to God, I saw Him work everything out. I had a peace when I gave all of my worries and burdens to God. I had to allow God to be God and remove myself from the picture. We all have a situation where we need Jesus to step into, but we are not allowing Him to. Sometimes, God cannot work in our situations because we are trying to take control. We are trying to operate without His power since we feel as if He is just taking too long. When we do this, we will find ourselves going around and around in the wilderness, becoming frustrated and failing everytime.

I was also reminded of what Matthew 6:25-33 says…That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

No matter what you are faced with, take it to Jesus and allow Him to work it out for you. It is not your job to know how He will do it, you just need to trust that He will and thank Him for doing it!
