JESUS IS PASSING BY

“43A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding, and she could find no cure. 44Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped. 45“Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.” 46But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.” 47When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. 48“Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” – Luke 8:43-48 (NLT)

This woman had a blood issue for twelve years. She spent all her money on doctor after doctor, to no avail. I am sure she became discouraged and wanted to give up many times, but she heard that Jesus was passing by and knew that this was her hour of deliverance. Among many people, she probably smelled horrible and was frowned upon because of her condition, but she still decided to pursue Jesus to receive what she needed. With everyone crowding around Jesus, she still got His attention with a simple act of faith, a touch. She did not touch his hand or feet. She touched the hem of his garment. She did not need Him to lay hands on her or give her a prophetic word. She allowed her faith to do the work.

How bad do you want your healing? How bad do you want your miracle? How bad do you want your deliverance? What are you willing to do to get to Jesus? God is available to touch you right now, at the very point of your need. Increase your level of faith and expectation, and watch God do the impossible. He will make a way where there seems to be no way. Will you allow the severity of your situation to stop your pursuit or will you become desperate enough to reach out and get God’s attention?

Jesus was on His way to tend to another situation, but on his way, this woman’s faith interrupted Heaven’s agenda for Jesus to see about her. Her touch was not a regular touch. It was a touch of faith, a touch of determination, a touch of desperation. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired. She pressed her way through the shame, she pressed her way through the obstacles, she pressed her way to her next level. What had her bound for twelve years, was broken off of her immediately! God can do the same for you today! How bad do you want it? Let your faith rise to another level and reach out and touch because JESUS IS PASSING BY!
