We are living in a day where many people parade around flaunting the name “Christian”. The name Christian or a Believer in Christ appears to fascinate many. However, there is more to being saved than just saying we are saved. Christ did not just come into the world for us to say the sinner’s prayer and go about our lives as usual. God has more for us. There is something beyond the sinner’s prayer that we must seek out.
God did not just save us to sit around to be lumps on a log. He saved us for a PURPOSE; to be partakers of a greater, collective, global Kingdom assignment. Every believer across the world is needed to fulfill this assignment. There is more to just having the name “Christian.” There is an assignment for us to accomplish, and we must get busy doing work for God. There are too many “saved” people sitting around and doing nothing. We want the benefits of a believer but are not doing the WORK of a believer. Christ had given His disciples a command that is still our responsibility today.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. – Mark 16:15 (KJV)
Since being saved, how many souls have we won to Christ? How many people have heard The Gospel because we shared it with them? What have we done with this great gift of salvation? Do we think it is only for us to keep? Do we believe that Jesus’ work stopped when we got saved? What if that Evangelist never stopped to us? What if that preacher never offered Christ to us? What if we never watched that minister on television? If God used them, what makes us think He does not want to use us? Many of us are too busy criticizing The Church rather than being The Church. Many of us are on Facebook, tearing down one another rather than being a witness for God. Many of us are belittling the preachers rather than being a better example. We magnify the problems rather than become the God-solution.
If we can only shift our energy in the right direction, we will see this world changed for God. We must realize that time is short, and too many are going to a Christless hell for us to be so comfortable in our pews and go about business as usual. Where is the urgency in this last day hour? Where is the passion for souls? Where is the burden to see our lost friends and family saved by the power of God? Saints of God, there is a clarion call for the soldiers of God to get in the fight. It is time to stop being a spectator and be a participator in the assignment of God. It is time to get off of the sidelines, waiting for a move from God, and become the move of God we want to see on earth. We say we want revival, but revival will not happen while sitting down and doing nothing. Revival begins when we decide to do what God has called us to do. God has NEVER stopped pouring out His Spirit. Maybe we have not received or seen it because we are too full of ourselves. We are full of our own motives and agendas instead of the work God has called us for.
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. – John 9:4 (KJV)
We live in the last and evil days, and if there is ever a time we need to get busy for God, it is NOW! The day is far spent, and night is coming. Saints, we must get busy with our Father’s business. Let us stop worrying about trivial things and get our plow in the ground. The end-time harvest is ripe, and God is waiting for the labourers to reap. Jesus is coming soon, and when we stand before Him, we will have to account for what we have been doing. What will God say when we stand before Him? Who are we bringing with us to heaven? Who will be in heaven because we decided to let our light shine? Think about these things, and get busy doing work for God!
