REMEMBER WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.

Psalm 103:2

2020, what an unforgettable year. For some, it was a year of pain, trouble, uncertainty, sorrow, and suffering. For others, it was a year of joy, expansion, growth, success, favor, open doors and unprecedented opportunities. Whichever side of the coin we may have found ourselves on this year, GOD HAS STILL BEEN GOOD. It may have been a rocky year, but here you are, still standing and still alive. Many people would wish to have that testimony. Not every day was a good day, but we must never forget what God has done in our lives despite the horrible things. Every day of this year, up to this point, God has opened our eyes and breathed fresh breath into our lungs. We may have been sick some days, but that sickness was not unto death. We may have been broke some days, but God always provided. We may have had to cry some days, but the storm did not last. We may have been weak some days, but God strengthened us. I just want to remind somebody of what the Lord has done despite the issues we encountered this year. Through every trial, through every season, through every test, through every tear, God has been faithful through it all. Daily, He loads us with His blessings to make it through each trying day. What a faithful God we serve!

Do you still have a praise? Do you still have a shout? Do you still have a hallelujah? Sometimes we just need to take a backward look of how far we have come and how much God has done for us. We cannot forget what He has done this year. We cannot forget the great and marvelous things! Look around! So much has changed in just a short while, but look at you. You are a living, breathing testimony of the benefits and goodness of our GOOD GOD! It could have been a different story this year, BUT GOD. It could have went a different way this year, BUT GOD. When we think of the could have’s, would have’s, should have’s, and how God’s hands was on our lives despite it all, He is deserving of all of the praise, glory and honor. Let us take our minds off of what did not go right, and set it on the benefits of God. Let us take our minds off of the hard days, and set it on the victory we have won through Christ. Let us take our minds off of the tears, and set it on the joy that always came through. Our praise should not be based on our feelings or circumstances, but our praise should endure through every season of our lives. Nothing should stop our praise. Nothing!

Like the song says,

I’ve had some good days
I’ve had some hills to climb
I’ve had some weary days
And some sleepless nights
But when I, when I look around
And I think things over
All of my good days
Outweigh my bad days
I, I won’t complain

Sometimes the clouds hang low
I can hardly see the road
I ask a question, Lord
Lord, why so much pain?
But He knows what’s best for me
Although my weary eyes
They can’t see
So I’ll just say thank You, Lord
I, I won’t complain

We refuse to complain. We refuse to be bitter. We refuse to be angry. As this year closes, we choose to be grateful! We choose to shout! We choose to dance! We choose to praise! We are going into 2021 with our victory already secured. If God brought us out of 2020, we know that nothing is impossible with our God. Remember what the Lord has done, and expect Him to do greater things in the coming year!
