REVIVE YOUR VISION: TRUST THE PROCESS

This blog discusses the importance of recalling and trusting in the vision God gives, emphasizing that while the vision may seem distant, it has an appointed time. I reflect on my personal experiences of forgetting the vision, the need for patience, maintaining focus on goals, celebrating small achievements, and surrendering to God’s timing.

Remembering the Vision

Do you remember the time you felt inspired to write down where you saw yourself years from now?

Writing a thing’s end goal is easy, but we often fail to include the process.

The vision God gives us can seem so grand when visualized on a piece of paper, but what seems to be right in front of us will take time to see in reality.

Writing the Vision

I believe it was in 2017 when I spent time with the Lord as He led me to write a vision for the ministry He would give me and business ideas.

I ended this time with about twenty detailed pages.

I can remember the passion, zeal, and stirring I felt as I wrote those things down.

I was in awe that God would give me such incredible opportunities to be used by Him and make Him famous in all the world.

The vision was great, but where I was, I felt nowhere near what the Lord was showing me.

Of course, in my zeal, I tried to rush things and do it with my own strength, but in the end, it never worked.

I always felt stagnant.

I saw how the Lord used other people and wondered when it would be my time.

Losing Sight of the Vision

Eventually, I tucked those twenty pages away and forgot about them.

I enrolled in college, finished, and worked a full-time job.

Life was great.

It had been about three years since I looked over or remembered the Lord’s vision.

It was not until the closing part of 2020 that the Lord pressed upon my heart to revisit the vision.

I felt the Lord wanting to remind me of what He had spoken about in my life.

I had no idea why, but I obeyed and took out those twenty pages.

Thankfully, I recalled where I had placed them.

My jaw dropped, and tears began to fill my eyes at what I had written.

This was the scripture I was led to:

The Reminder from Scripture

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (KJV) says, “And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”

Trusting the Process

Sometimes, the vision may seem so big that we want to lock it up because we think it is not for this time or season.

The Lord gave us the vision for a reason.

There is a purpose in what He told us.

Though it may seem far-fetched, the vision is for an appointed time.

We may think the appointed time is too long, but we cannot rush the journey.

We all must go through a process, and even through the process, we must not let go of the Lord’s blueprint for our lives.

A Call to Action

So, I come with this proclamation today: It is time for you to dust off that book, dust off that song, dust off that business.

You may have been discouraged because of the magnitude of the vision.

You may have been detoured by things that have happened in your life.

You may have been derailed because of certain circumstances.

No matter the case, it is time to bring the vision out and place it before your face again.

It is time to speak life into what the Lord has given you.

Take heart in knowing that your present location is not your final destination.

The Lord is the captain of your life, guiding your every step.

You may not understand the direction He is taking you, but it is all a part of the bigger picture He is piecing together.

Waiting with Faith

Though the vision tarry, wait for it… it will surely come to pass.

Final Reflection: Embrace the Journey with Patience and Faith

Revisiting the vision God placed in your heart is not just a moment of reflection—it is a recalibration.

It is about realigning with the purpose He has designed for your life.

But let us be real: holding on to that vision, especially when it feels far off, can be challenging.

Here are some practical takeaways to encourage you:

Keep the Vision Visible
Do not let the vision collect dust.

Keep it in a place where you can see it, read it, and pray over it regularly.

This will remind you of God’s promise and fuel your faith during times of doubt.

Celebrate Small Wins
The journey is not just about reaching the destination; it is about the growth, lessons, and experiences along the way.

Celebrate the small milestones—they are evidence that God is moving, even if it feels slow.

Surrender Your Timeline
It is easy to get discouraged when things do not happen on your preferred schedule.

Trust that God’s timing is perfect, even when it feels like waiting is all you are doing.
