Well, it’s Valentine’s Day. We know every day is a day of love, but we do a little extra and feel the lovey-dovey emotions. Hahaha! Today, I wanted to pen an open letter to the future love of my life. I do not know where she is or what she is doing, but this is what I want her to know. Whenever we meet, she can read this and know I loved her long before I knew her.
To my future elect lady,
Most people laugh at the fact that I call you “Elect Lady,” and I honestly cannot remember how I found this befitting title. It is Biblical, though, found in 2 John 1. Hahaha! The phrase “elect” in that verse translates as “chosen.” Yes, you are my chosen lady. Chosen by God for me, for life, for the Kingdom. You were chosen by God before the world was ever created. You were chosen by God before you were in your mother’s womb. Before you were named, you were called chosen. That is who you are.
I do not know you yet, but I am anxiously awaiting that precious moment our paths cross. I want you to know I am not the only one waiting. So many people are, and they are already praying for you. Hahaha! I talk about you a lot on my social media. If we have already, I hope that at the right time, God will open my eyes to behold the beauty that you are. While we wait, I want you to know that I am preparing myself for you. I am reading the necessary books, learning from the godly examples before me, listening to messages, and receiving wise counsel along the way.
Now, I have never been in a relationship before, not because I couldn’t, but because my heart, time, and money are valuable. Especially the money part. Hahaha! I am young. I cannot afford to waste it. I want my heart, time and money to only be in the hands of the one God has for me. I ask God daily to make me the man of God He has called me to be, for the one He has called for me. I ask God daily to give me the wisdom to make wise decisions to lay a solid foundation upon which to build our lives. I ask God daily to draw me closer to Him before I am ever drawn to you. I ask God daily to help me to remain pure and undefiled.
While we wait, I pray you are drawing closer to God daily. I pray you are not wasting time while waiting on me and not fulfilling your Kingdom purpose. I pray singing is part of your Kingdom’s purpose because I would sure love a singing Elect Lady. Hahaha! I pray you never settle or make the wrong decisions because you may feel lonely. I pray you never feel less than or unworthy of the love God is preparing for you. I pray that if you may have been broken from past relationships, God heals and make whole the inner parts of your heart. I pray you wake up every morning and see the most beautiful woman in the world because you are to me. I pray that God will help you remain pure and undefiled. I pray you are a woman of the word. I pray you stand strongly for holiness and righteousness like I do. I pray you are committed to being set apart from the world.
My future Elect Lady, who knows when we will meet? But when we do, may you be able to read the love chapter of 1 Corinthians 13 in the King James Version (because that is the version I use) and be able to replace charity with my name. It is my desire to give you the best of me. No, I do not believe in the 50/50. We both will be joined together as 100 + 100.
Until then, I am praying for you, and I will never stop. Oh, and I’m keeping the Jezebels away.
