WHAT A YEAR
I cannot believe we are close to ending another year. 2024 seems to have flown by fast.
Whether the year leaves broken pieces or monumental moments, celebrate how far you have come and how much you have overcome.
This year was a whirlwind for me, but I grew through it. We should not simply “go” through life. We should GROW through life.
Overcoming Fear and Taking the Leap
At the start of the year, I set out a goal to host two social media workshops. I was afraid. I felt inadequate. I did not know if anyone would support me.
Would anyone even sign up? I wondered. The only way to overcome these feelings was to take action.
Being in college has pushed me to find new ways to become resourceful.
I am sure other college students can relate.
“Use what you have” is something I have always heard but never fully understood until recently.
I knew I had potential and passions but was waiting for the perfect moment. Eventually I realized there is never βthe perfect moment.β
Rome was not built in a day.
The Power of Small Steps
Remember, the key to progress is simply to start. The longer we wait, the more we delay progress.
Every building starts with one brick.
Making Opportunities, Not Waiting for Them
Instead of waiting for an opportunity, I created one to use the skills I had acquired to help others.
Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
I took a leap in March and October and hosted two virtual social media trainings. It did not matter how many people registered. I showed up for myself by doing something beyond my comfort zone.
I won even if only one person registered. A win is a win.
The Journey, Not the Destination
I did not have some exuberant production. I did not have a $1,000 budget for marketing. I used Zoom, Canva, and my social media.
It is okay to not have everything figured out right now. It is okay to not have everything at the start.
My journey is my journey.
Seeing the Impact
After the workshops, I was surprised to see how beneficial and valuable my insights were to individuals and businesses. What further encouraged me was seeing the application of the training in these individuals’ social media accounts.
I watched them take off.
Imagine if I had listened to my doubts and fears? What solutions for others are you talking yourself out of?
Reflect and Renew
Have you shown up for yourself this year? No matter how big or small, take time to celebrate, reflect, and chart a new course for the new year.
