There is a song with lyrics that say:
“I’ve lived stories that have proved Your faithfulness
And I’ve seen miracles my mind can’t comprehend
And there is beauty in what I can’t understand”
That is my testimony, by far, and some of you already know parts of it.
However, I do not know if you have ever been in a place where you are not questioning God, but you are still asking, “God, what are You doing?”
That kind of place.
Like, I am not complaining or anything, and I know the end will always be better than I could ever comprehend.
But in the middle between here and there, it is truly a battle.
It is where discouragement creeps in because the tunnel seems darker than the light you know is shining, even when your eyes cannot see it.
It is where sadness creeps in, where you know the joy of the Lord surrounds you, but you just cannot seem to feel it.
It is where the ground feels shaky because it seems like your situation has taken the unshakable Solid Rock by surprise.
It is a real battle.
And if I am honest, that is where I am.
I feel kind of lost in the sauce, and everything that I have worked hard to build feels like it is hanging in the balance of uncertainty.
Beyond career, it is the community for me.
The friends I have gotten to know and have only just started building genuine relationships with.
Something I struggled with and truly needed. I had finally experienced a breakthrough of sorts, and now I do not even know if we will ever be in the same space again like we were before.
Then life keeps moving.
You see things happening, and the feelings of missing out creep in.
That thought of, “Man, if I was there,” and the longing to be there.
You know, it is one thing when you are prepared for endings.
No one said it would be easy, but when things happen quickly and you do not know what is coming next, it leaves you with an emptiness of what was and what could have been if things were different.
But I still do not know what is what, and that is the tension, because there is still hope.
It is so easy to focus on, “What if it does not work out?” But what if it does?
This is not blind hope or simple optimism, but a faith that believes the Lord will fulfill the desires of those who fear Him.
That is the verse I have been standing on.
Because even here, God is still present.
Even here, He is still faithful.
Even here, He is still working, even when I cannot trace what He is doing.
So I will trust Him in the middle.
I will trust Him in the tension.
I will trust Him in what I do not understand.
And if this is a part of my story, then I know it will still end in His faithfulness.
I am thankful that I am not in this battle alone.
I have people praying for me, believing with me, and encouraging me, and that has made this process easier.
Their support has truly been a help to me in this season.
So even while I am in my own process, I want you to know that I am praying for you, too.
Because the truth is, we are all going through something.
We may not always say it, and it may not always look the same, but there are battles, questions, and moments of tension that we all face.
And just like I am learning to trust God in my process, I am believing that He will meet you in yours.
That He will strengthen you, keep you, and remind you that you are not alone either.
So wherever you are, in whatever season you find yourself in, I am praying that you hold on.
Hold on to your faith.
Hold on to His promises.
Because He will not fail you.
